Happy New Year everyone! Wait, what? It is 2019 already?

Hope you all had a great seasonal holiday with your loved ones, busy reflecting on last year and setting new year goals.

2018 was a great year started with our studio opening in January, showing our newly renovated space and the different characters of our each members.

February  kicked off with Line in Motions – East meets West joint exhibition in Amsterdam. It was a pleasure to show my works to a different audience and connect with artists and art lovers. A big Thank You to curator and organizer Loi Che Chan for inviting!

Followed by two exhibitions I organized, I truly believe art can transform lives. By showing artworks by dementia elders through tailormade art programmes I developed alongside artists, social works and therapists, professionally displayed in a gallery space, the participants and their caregivers were deeply moved during their visits to the gallery. By treating their artwork properly with care, we show them dignity and hidden talents that not only empowering, but also transformational to them and their families.

Camping on Grassland joint exhibition with Edward Cheung in Septermber showed artworks related to our emotional experience respectively. My work was a personal breakthrough that by recalling critical memories I shared with my parents during my childhood that shaped me who I am, I imagined my adult self comforting my young self, letting the memories go and reconstruct a new narrative on a family unit. The pieces were both personal and universal as many were deeply moved, I thank all for the honest, heartfelt conversations we had during the exhibition period. Thank you Edward for inviting and basically there for the whole process.

With the love and support by many in 2018, I look forward to challenges and opportunities in 2019! Our studio is opening for public review in the coming 2 weekends (12-13, 19-20 Jan 2-7pm), hope to see you if you are in Hong Kong!

Stay warm!
